Terms of Service

1. Acceptance
By accessing or using PriceTransparency.io ("Service"), operated by BID Partners LLC ("we", "us"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. The Service
PriceTransparency.io aggregates and provides analytical access to hospital standard-charge data that U.S. hospitals publish as machine-readable files under the federal Hospital Price Transparency rule (45 CFR 180). We do not claim ownership of the underlying hospital-published data. The aggregation, normalization, indexing, derivations, AI tooling, compliance grading, and software comprising the Service are our copyrighted work.
3. Accounts
Free accounts are available. Paid accounts require accurate contact and billing information. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
4. Fees and billing
Subscription plans are billed in advance at the price shown at checkout. One-time purchases (single-hospital reports) are billed once at checkout. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date through the billing portal. Taxes are your responsibility.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to (a) scrape, mirror, or systematically extract the Service's output in volumes inconsistent with your plan, (b) resell, sublicense, or redistribute exports as a competing data product, (c) use the Service as the sole basis for a billing, coverage, or payment decision about a specific patient without independently verifying the underlying hospital file, or (d) attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or paywalls.
6. Data accuracy and limits
We surface data sourced from hospitals' own machine-readable files. Hospital price transparency data is widely known to be incomplete, inconsistently formatted, and sometimes erroneous at the source. While we refresh on a published cadence and document the crawl date and data version on every export, we make no warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. Published rates may differ from the amount you are ultimately charged or owe. Use the Service for analytical, comparison, and editorial purposes, not as a guaranteed price quote.
7. AI features
The AI Query Builder uses a third-party large language model to translate your natural-language requests into structured queries. Output is presented as a preview; we recommend you verify the parsed query before relying on results. Prompts may be retained for service operation and quality improvement.
8. Termination
You may cancel anytime via the billing portal. We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (IP, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, excluding its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes take effect 30 days after we post them; continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
